Explorers are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family after Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Structure and meetings
Liverpool North Explorers, or LiverBears, are one single unit within Liverpool North with the flexibility to meet on two nights. This gives the flexibility to you as an Explorer to choose when you attend and what activities you do.
Both nights, Mondays and Tuesdays, work together with the common aim to deliver a full programme of interests to you as Explorers while working together to provide joint activities for all to enjoy. All activities and meeting nights are planned with your involvement to ensure we deliver the fun and pack programme you want to complete.
Both nights differ slightly to ensure that whichwever night you attend, there should be something which interests you.

Activities
Explorers get the chance to work with other Explorers in their District, not just their own Unit, so can take part in an even wider spectrum of activities. All our activities and meetings are based on what you as an Explorer want to do from looking at environmental issues, to local projects, or working towards hobbies and interests.
Various camps and activities are all offered on the basis of what you want to do. We are a truly Youth Shaped section.
We offer the full range of Duke of Edinburgh Award utilising County resources to ensure the expedition elements can be met. This ties into the Scouts Top Awards of Chief Scout's Platinum, Diamond and Queen's Scout Awards.
We have also supported and continue to support our Explorers attendance at the World Scout Jamboree, EuroJam and Explorer Belt Expeditions as well as annual attendance at the Merseymoot and annual trips to the Pantomime.
The video below shows what we do as a whole within Liverpool North District, being filmed and presented by a number of our Explorers for our 2019 District AGM.
