Mad Hatter's Party

Saturday 7th October saw around 70 Cub Scouts and their leaders come together in celebration of the 90th birthday of Cub Scouts. All the Cubs were excited and joined in games of pass the parcel, balloon stomp, musical chairs and statues with great enthusiasm. All of the entries to the Mad Hatters Hat Competition were fantastic and I know Kevin had a difficult time choosing the winners. Kevin actually wanted to give a prize to everyone but had to choose just 3. 3rd prize went to a wrestling ring (or was it boxing?), 2nd went to a jungle fun hat and 1st prize went to a hat with its very own Mad Hatters party on it. After 2 hours of fun, games and general organised chaos, everyone went home happy but tired (or was that just me?). I would like to thank all of those leaders who mucked in on the day to make the party go smoothly - you all know who you were, and thanks to our DC, Kevin McGlone for joining us and judging the competition, and thanks to our vicar, Tom, for the use of the hall. Here's to another 90 years!!!

1st Place far left of the Mad Hatters best hat!

Cubs' badge day

Approximately 40 children attended the 1st HQ at St. Athanasius Church to complete the Athletes, Home Safety, Emergency Aid and the Scientist badges. Every child earned all four badges after a hard, but enjoyable day. Many thanks go to all of the leaders for giving their time and energy to allow this event to take place.

Water Activity Taster Day

The 17th Walton On The Hill Cubs went to West Kirby on Sat 9th July. This was a water activity taster day open to all Cub Scouts, organised by Alison and Ian Bell and is run each year. The Cubs had 2 hours on the water. They got to try open kayaks, bell boats and canoes. It was very cold, wet and windy but the Cubs had a wonderful time. Lesley (Below are some pictures)
