Hi all,

Just to make everyone aware my self and the Beaver team are planning a day out to Eureka the children's science museum in Halifax. The date for the trip will be Saturday 12th may, and the cost will be £15pp which will include the coach travel and entrance to the museum. The Children should bring a packed lunch with them. We will be leaving at 08.45 and should arrive at Eureka no later than 10.15. On return we will be back around 17.00. I would like to see every group make an effort to attend as this will be a great learning curve for the children, also there is a badge they can gain by attending on the day.

If your group would like to attend can you please let me know by friday 17th February no later any groups after this will not be counted.
I would like numbers from each group by Friday 23rd March - these must be exact numbers not approx numbers - when you give the numbers to me that is what you will be charged i.e. if you tell me you have 10 children going and then 2 drop out you will still be charged for 10, also i will not except any more numbers after Friday 23rd March.

When you send me the numbers of children going can you include the leaders that are going aswell, for every 4 children attending you get one adult entrance free any more and your group will have to pay the additional amount.

Congratulations New ADC Beavers

I am pleased to announce that we now have a Beaver Team and a new ADC Beavers. Daniel Sedgwick 17th Fairfield will become ADC Beavers and he will be ably supported by two District Beaver Leaders, Louise Jamieson 5th Fairfield and Adele Parry 17th Fairfield. As with all the Teams if any Leader wants to become part of the team all they need to do is contact Daniel. I hope that the District will support them as they undertake these new Roles.

Beaver Fun Day

Saturday 24th September 2011 saw over 90 Beaver Scouts descend on the 17th Fairfield Headquarters in Meadow Lane. The day had been planned and organised by the District Beaver Team, consisting of Adele Parry and Daniel Sedgewick from 17th Fairfield and Louise Jamison from 5th Faifield. A huge thanks to them.

The Beaver Scouts had a great Day with Face Painting, cake and biscuit decorating, bag and hat Making, Peg Dolls , Birthday cards, Bouncy Castle and Parachute and a Beaver Trail. There was also a Fire Engine and Police carrier and Beavers were able to sit in the vehicles and try bits of the uniform and Fire Fighting Equipment on. We also had our very own DJ courtesy of a Young Leader from the 17th who was a smashing DJ even though he didn’t play any sixties music despite repeated requests from me. To finish off we had a huge Birthday Cake donated by Costco and we all had to blow out the 25 candles and sing Happy Birthday. My thanks to all the Groups who took part and the Leaders who gave up even more of their time. Let’s hope this is the start of things to come within the Beaver Section.
