I'm looking for volunteers to help out in the craft tent at the Wingding Cub camp on Saturday and / or Sunday 16/17 June. If you are interested could you please let me know.  All the crafts are sorted so it is just the case of supervising the cubs on the craft base. If you are already camping at the event then your camp fees will be waived if you can help out.  If you just wish to come out to help on the day(s) then lunch will be provided.  If you can help or know anyone who would like to help can you please let me know.

Many thanks, Joanne Cain ADC (Cub Scouts)

Help Needed!

We need your help, we have been invited to the JOSEPH LAPPIN MEMORIAL FESTIVAL. On the 27th May. We attended it last year with Barbara Hughes and the Liverpool city councillors and council organisers where that impressed with us we got local publicity and quite a few prospective adult volunteers out of it.

We need your help for adults to volunteer their services to this day or part of the day 10-4pm. I have asked if we could do face painting on the day and charge £1 which will go to your group funds. This is an ideal opportunity for us to promote scouting in the Liverpool North District. Please contact Angela Pender if you can volunteer.

Liverpool North District Camp 2012

It is with regret that I have decided that the above camp will not take place. To date I have had only two replies, my thanks to those two Groups who actually took the time to reply.

I am aware that both financial and other commitments may have contributed to the poor response and I have not given up hope that a District Camp will take place at a date in the future.

Day Trip to Eureka

The Beaver team are planning a day out to Eureka the children's science museum in Halifax. The date for the trip will be Saturday 12th may, and the cost will be £15pp which will include the coach travel and entrance to the museum. The Children should bring a packed lunch with them. We will be leaving at 08.45 and should arrive at Eureka no later than 10.15. On return we will be back around 17.00.

If your group would like to attend can you please let me know by friday 17th February no later any groups after this will not be counted. I would like numbers from each group by Friday 23rd March - these must be exact numbers not approx numbers - when you give the numbers to me that is what you will be charged i.e. if you tell me you have 10 children going and then 2 drop out you will still be charged for 10, also i will not except any more numbers after Friday 23rd March.

When you send me the numbers of children going can you include the leaders that are going aswell, for every 4 children attending you get one adult entrance free any more and your group will have to pay the additional amount.

Thanks Daniel Sedgwick,
ADC Beavers Liverpool North District

Nights Away - Update

With reference to Nights Away Permits, Neil Parr and I (Steve Parry) took over as District Nights Away advisers for Liverpool North last year. Neil has previously done this role in Walton on the hill and I did the role in Fairfield. Part of this role involves issuing Nights Away permits to leaders to enable them to take children away on either Residential Experiences or a Camp.

If you do not hold a permit, you are not allowed to run a Nights Away Experience. This applies to expired permits as well.

With this in mind and a number of updates in 2007 to the Permit Scheme, as a District we need to ensure that all Leaders who wish to run a Nights away experience have a current permit. To ensure your group/section/unit has the correct permit visit our nights away page.
